This is an independent project created by a small group of volunteers concerned about the implications of the Online Safety Act 2023. We believe that meaningful debate is essential when laws reach into private communications. Our aim is to highlight how the Act threatens privacy and free speech.
Here you'll find commentary and links to resources that question whether the Act achieves its stated aims without sacrificing fundamental freedoms. We have no party affiliation—just a desire to keep the conversation going. The Orwellian styling is a nod to what many see as the law's potential overreach.
We also recognise that lawmakers were responding to real worries about online harms. It's simply our view that good intentions should not eclipse civil liberties.
